Take a good look at this picture. The person in this image is named Lamarcus Small and he lives in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.

Lamarcus Small, together with Diego Galante (Montevideo, Uruguay), operates three terrible websites:

  1. An online forum that coaches mentally unwell people how to end their lives and avoid input from medical professionals.

  2. Two forums for 'incels' (involtary celibates). These forums are used to abuse women, support other incels who have committed atrocities (including murder) and discuss sex with minors.

Lamarcus Small and Diego Galante are unhinged individuals who have made an intense effort to hide their identities and evade legal ramifications. We now know their identities thanks to a brilliant piece of investigative journalism by the New York Times, linked below.

New York Times Article

The authors of the article obtained the contact details for Lamarcus and Diego and proceeded to contact them both by phone. Diego was clearly surprised by this, hurriedly denied knowledge of the forum and put the phone down. Lamarcus also denied knowledge, though went on to blame his younger brother when confronted with evidence. The recording is available online.

The 3rd Wheel

Lamarcus Small and Diego Galante are assisted in the day-to-day running of their suicide forum by a team of moderators and an admin. The admin is known by the pseudonym RainAndSadness. In real life, he is a transgender woman who calls himself Tori. This is 'Tori':

The Way Forward

Along with the New York Times Article linked above, the suicide forum in particular has been heavily criticised in the press and former members have spoken out.

Here in the US, a campaign has been launched to pressure lawmakers to take action on harmful online content: Fix The 26

Some governments have even taken the step of banning access to the suicide forum for citizens in their countries, such is the extremely harmful content that appears on the forum (Australia, Germany, etc).

As relatives of people who have tragically lost their lives because of the content pushed by Lamarcus Small, Diego Galante and 'Tori', we need to put further pressure on key decision makers to take action on harmful online content such as this.
